So, I’m weird about commissions. I ALWAYS want them… so bring them on. Sometimes they do start to feel like a job, so I get all in my head and don’t have any motivation to work on them. This doesn’t sound promising as an artist asking for future commission consideration, I know, but I’ve been making a lot of changes in my life, and getting shit DONE is one of those changes.
Most recently, I’ve worked on a couple of custom pieces that are so far apart from each other art wise, you may wonder if they were even done by the same artist.
This one is one of my repurposed birchboxes, and is based on a quilt that a friend is working on. She does AMAZING work, and makes me wish I could be a quilter, but as usual, I have to reel myself in, and realize I can’t do EVERY type of art out there, I just can’t. Here’s one of the reference pics she sent me:
So here’s the finished painting, she loves it, and that’s all I can hope for!
I love stencils, I love painting with them, and cutting them etc… even though cutting them is a tedious process it always feels like an accomplishment. Another friend’s assistant is going to school for criminology and really wanted a blood splattered painting of some sort for her home office. I just thought, I mean… what better way to represent bloodiness than an image from “Psycho”? So, I made a stencil of an iconic image of Janet Leigh from the movie. My goal was for the finished product to not only be bloody AF, but also have an old film grain feel, and I’m pretty happy with the overall results, and so was the client, so WIN!
Moral of the story is, I REALLY WANT TO DO MORE COMMISSIONS AND CUSTOM WORK! So hit me up! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or message me on facebook ’cause I’m on that bitch 24/7.
